One of the primary functions of coolant is to regulate heat within the cylinder head and engine block. The coolant system is designed to circulate a cooling medium which absorbs heat from the engine and dissipates it through a heat exchanger (i.e., a radiator or cooler). Coolant picks up heat and transfers it to the radiator. Coolant is also used to protect against freezing and boiling, corrosion and pitting of cylinder liners and the engine block.
If a problem occurs in the process of dissipating the engine heat, then this is where you would begin to see equipment failure and engine issues, including engine failure.

We use Schroeder Truck to maintain our companies fleet including light truck and yellow iron. Our company is in a remote area in the plains making it hard to get service. Phil and Joey take great care of our units keeping them operating and maintained. They are flexible to try and get to us quickly if a machine goes down.
